Nowruz is the Persian New Year (Year 1388 on Persian Calendar):
A festival that re-affirms our ties to nature and humankind.
A celebration of an ancient culture from the time of Jamshid that heralds the vernal equinox and continues for thirteen days.
A secular celebration of spring, renewal, rebirth and new life is so for the farmer as it is for the city dweller, a joyous reawakening.
Program: The Symposium will begin at 12:30 p.m. with registration. Presentations and discussions will commence at 1:00 p.m. sharp and adjourn at 3:00 p.m. The Nowruz Reception will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a short presentation on the history and significance of Nowruz.
