From Childhood I believed there was an Inner Garden full of magical birds and beautiful nature. When I entered the Garden of Paradise in Shiraz, Iran, I saw my heart turned inside out in the beauty of the flowers and began to paint there. At the end of my first of three trips to Iran, in 2003, I was introduced to Mahmoud Farschcian at his show of paintings at Sa'adabad, The Shah's Palace Art Museum in Teheran and this began a series of enlightened communications and sharing, encouraging me to create my Conference of the Birds for him. I left Iran on Jan. 10, 2005 after being given the precious opportunity to display my paintings of Hafez Tomb and Saadi's Tomb and the Garden of Paradise at Hafez's Tomb in Shiraz, between Christmas 2004 and New Year's Day Jan.2005. I shared these paintings with as many people as possible to communicate the beauty that can be received silently through the language of the heart. One gallery owner from Teheran told me later, "Your paintings are not meer pictures that you hang on the wall and view with your eyes, but they are like beautiful literature that elevates the spirit.
