Sa’adi’s Tomb and Garden

Shiraz, Iran
Sa’adi was a Perfect Master and a famous Iranian poet, writer, and philosopher who was born and died in the 13th century in Shiraz. Sa’adi is supposed to be a great lyric poet second only to Hafez. Sa’adi’s Mausoleum is very beautiful. I painted 9 hours straight without stopping. Time passed as if it never existed. It was an honor to paint here once again. One of the guards gave me a large handful of dried fruits and nuts to eat just when I was wishing I had some food.
